We strongly believe in the undeniable power of a great education and we know that parent involvement in education is vital to the success of students!The GLTS Parent Connection celebrates the diversity of GLTS's population and welcome everyone to feel connected to the school community. Our goal is to empower parents as their child’s first teachers thus making them great partnersin education and increase student achievement. Specially, the Parent Connection staff strives to meet the following goals: Provide a permanent and welcoming place in schools where parents can learn about their child’s education as well as network with other parents. Demonstrate to parents that working with their child at home helps increase student achievement. Built parent capacity by providing relevant trainings and workshops in flexible schedules Provide support during parent-teacher conferences by offering specific education educational materials and resources in the different content areas that will supplement and enrich student learning. Show the importance of sharing a partnership among the staff, parents, student and the community in the building. Our Mission: Our mission is to reach out, connect and facilitate parent communication and involvement with our school, students, parents and community -- we are all in this together!!

ABOUT US Greater Lawrence Technical School is a regional technical high school serving the four communities of Andover, Lawrence, Methuen and North Andover. It is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Students entering their freshman year explore each career and technical program. With resources such as career counseling and guidance from targeted support staff, students are able to make an informed decision choosing their path whether it be college or career. Career Vocational and Technical Education (CVTE) is a major part of the educational experience students receive at GLTS. Students spend almost 50% of their educational time learning technical skills and knowledge in a career path that will prepare them for employment prior to graduation. All our Career and Technical programs are approved Chapter 74 programs from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The CVTE curricula associated with these programs have all been aligned with the Massachusetts CVTE Frameworks. Students enrolled in CVTE programs will be expected to attain the Certificate of Proficiency in their chosen CVTE program prior to graduation.

Program Summary The After Dark Program offers Lawrence High School, Phoenix Academy, Andover High and Methuen High students the opportunity to receive a career and technical education at GLTS. It’s called “After Dark” because students attend GLTS for technical training from 3 pm – 5:30 pm. In the morning, students attend their local high school for academic classes from about 10 am – 2 pm. The GLTS After Dark Program is designed to respond to the unmet demand for vocational education experienced by Gateway City students and students who have historically been underserved, including students of color, low income students, and those with less than stellar academic records. All of the technical career pathways offered through the GLTS After Dark Program align with local, regional and statewide labor market needs. Available vocational programs: Advanced Manufacturing (Fall 2025) Automotive Services Technology Health Assisting Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Information Technology Welding and Metal Fabrication Students are recruited during their sophom*ore year and attend the program during their junior and senior year. When successfully completed, students receive their HS diploma from their local high school and a technical certification of completion from GLTS that qualifies them for in-demand, career pathway jobs in high-growth industries.
