Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of the position is to conduct field audits, investigate, analyze, and evaluate cases processed by Family Investment Case Managers and reviewed by Family Investment Supervisors in order to: 1) inform FIA’s leadership at the Local Departments of Social Services, FIA’s Central leadership, Maryland’s legislative leadership and Federal officials inthe United States Department of Agriculture about the accuracy and timeliness of benefitprocessing; 2) identify corrective action(s) needed to prevent future errors; and, 3) ensure that the State is in compliance with Federal, State and Local policies and directives in theadministration of all Family Investment programs.
POSITION DUTIES
- Compile and write comprehensive evaluation reports of field audit findings.
- Obtain case record files and other documentation each month for customers in any of the 24 Local Departments of Social Service.
- Conduct independent field audits of randomly sampled DHS customers’ cases.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Seven years of experience, three years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations and an additional four years ofprofessional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations for the required experience.
2.Candidates may substitute graduate level education at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 credit hours per year for up to six yearsof the required experience.
3.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicantswho possess the following preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specific information on your application regardingyour qualifications.
One year experience in conducting audits.
One year of experience utilizing Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
One year of experience preparing clear, accurate, and detailed reports.
