The Bulletproof Coffee Recipe and Review (2024)

I shared a little over a week ago that I’d started using a pretty new coffee recipe with something called Bulletproof Coffee. Now, it’s no secret that I’m a huge coffee drinker. Not only do I love coffee, I would go so far as to say that I really need it sometimes to get my nerves together and my brain functioning right.

That said, I’d never actually heard of Bulletproof coffee prior to being approached by the company to try it out. Once I started digging around to learn more about it, I have to admit, I was pretty intrigued and even a little taken aback by it. Like, here’s a big shocker I had to get over – part of the recipe entails putting butter in coffee! Yes, you read that right!

Then once I learned more about the Bulletproof coffee recipe, it actually did all make sense and I was eager to try it out, see how it worked and share my experience and findings with you all. So, here it goes.

The Bulletproof Coffee Recipe and Review (1)

What is Bulletproof Coffee

Bulletproof Coffee is a branded coffee drink consisting of Upgraded black coffee blended with grass-fed butter (or Ghee) and “Brain Octane oil. While it seems like an unusual blend, these three ingredients works together to promote brain function, memory, and energy levels. The Bulletproof Coffee is low toxin and the Brain Octane Oil contains 16x the healthy fats of Coconut oil and improves your health and energy with regular use. In fact, Brain Octane Oil’s effects can near-always be felt instantaneously! Finally, the Grass-fed ghee acts as a viable option for adding healthy grass-fed fat to your daily intake.

Why Bulletproof Coffee

Coffee is coffee right? Wrong. There is actually such a thing as good coffee and bad coffee. The proprietary Bulletproof Process optimizes every step of coffee production for performance by minimizing the opportunity for performance-robbing mold toxins. This is relevant because ingesting those mold toxins can contribute to chronic health issues. Bulletproof® Upgraded Coffee Beans, on the other hand are grown at high altitude on single estates in Guatemala, hand-harvested, carefully processed, handled and roasted to maintain maximum integrity and flavor. The final roast then undergoes proprietary lab testing to verify that the coffee meets the Bulletproof quality and purity standards.

Additionally, the Brain Octane Oil (which is a key ingredient of Bulletproof coffee), is a key part of Bulletproof Intermittent Fasting, a protocol that boosts metabolism, burns fat, improves cognition, builds muscle, along with many more qualities.

The Bulletproof Coffee Recipe and Review (2)How To Make Bulletproof Coffee

  • Add in 1-2 tablespoons of Brain Octane™ Oil to the hot coffee (Warning: It’s really STRONG, so start with 1 tsp. and work up over several days).
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons grass-fed, unsalted butter or grass-fed ghee
  • Mix it all in a blender for 20-30 seconds until it is frothy like a foamy latte
  • Drink and Enjoy

My Experience with Bulletproof Coffee

As I said before, I’ve always been a coffee drinker, but in the past few months, I’ve noticed that even the strongest coffee had not really been doing its job. As the holidays approached, my energy levels continued to decrease. I attributed this to some factors such as high stress combined with my poor diet.

I started incorporating Bulletproof coffee a little over a week ago and started to notice the subtle differences instantly. The first day I drank Bulletproof coffee was actually my first day in a number of weeks that I’d been able to get through the entire day productively and without feeling the need to take a nap. With that said, it was also my first night in a long time I’d been able to go to bed at a respectable hour and sleep through the night, trickling in to a well rested morning. I can honestly say that I’ve noticed a significant change in my energy level and overall productivity since drinking Bulletproof Coffee.

The Bulletproof Coffee Recipe and Review (3)Another change I’ve noticed, though it may be too soon to validate, is the fact that my appetite has become more controlled in the past few days. I’ll have to keep you all posted as to whether or not this ultimately results in weight loss.

A few words of caution with Bulletproof Coffee:

If I could offer one warning… It would be to make sure you are following the Bulletproof coffee recipe according to the directions. I mentioned this earlier, but keep in mind that the Brain Octane really is some strong stuff. Once, I tried to skip the ghee from my coffee thinking I;d be fine with the Brain Octane and coffee alone. I was left with a pretty bad headache because, as I later learned, the fat in the ghee actually also works to slow the release of caffeine, which is really helpful for folks who are caffeine sensitive. In my case, the lack of ghee really hindered the process and made the strength of the coffee more noticeable. By the next day, I was fine again once I followed the recipe.

Real Deal on Bulletproof Coffee

All in all, I’m really glad I had a chance to try Bulletproof Coffee out for myself. I can honestly say I’m pleased with the results. With everything that comes with the busy holiday season, it has been a huge help having that extra power boost. I definitely plan on continuing use, so make sure you’re following me on Twitter for periodic updates.
